Today, President Trump signed H.R. 6157 (the “Department of Defense and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act, 2019 and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019”") into law. As part of this appropriations, GEAR UP will receive $360 million for fiscal year (FY) 2019, an increase of $10 million over 2018.

After a long and difficult appropriations process—one that saw two brief federal government shutdowns—the House and Senate have passed a $1.3 trillion omnibus appropriation for FY 2018. While it was expected to be quickly signed by the President, the President just shared on Twitter that he is considering vetoing the bill.
