Dear Colleagues:
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Ranjit Sidhu, President & CEO of NCCEP, will be transitioning out of his role at the end of the year. The Board of Directors has recently accepted his resignation as he leaves to pursue his next role as Executive Director & CEO of ASCD. We are certainly happy for Ranjit but will miss his leadership to NCCEP and the GEAR UP movement.
Ranjit leaves the organization in a tremendous position to climb to even greater heights in the future. Over the past several years, NCCEP and GEAR UP have flourished. We have galvanized the constituency under a new membership model, launched numerous new programs, enhanced professional development offerings, raised the bar on GEAR UP national events, and elevated support for GEAR UP on Capitol Hill, resulting in an all-time high appropriation of $360 Million. Importantly, the NCCEP team is strong and well prepared to steer the organization into the future.
All these efforts have positioned us superbly for the next phase of organizational and programmatic growth. The Board of Directors remains steadfast in its commitment to the GEAR UP program and will be working diligently to ensure that we find the best CEO possible to lead NCCEP.
Ranjit returned to NCCEP in 2015 with the goal of strengthening NCCEP and GEAR UP while keeping students and the professionals that serve them at the core of all we do. I assure you that as we plan this transition over the next three months, Ranjit, the NCCEP team, and the Board will ensure that the great work continues. We will provide you with updates throughout the process.
Please join me in wishing Ranjit the best in his next endeavor.
Sincerely,
Aaron Thompson
Chair, NCCEP Board of Directors
