Partners for Education at Berea College were featured in an article celebrating the success in the Kentucky Promise Zone. 'STEM Squad' Aims to Inspire Students to Learn

Student Storytelling Opportunity

Appalachian GEAR UP students in Western North Carolina counties are participating in a series of Saturday Storytelling Sessions, a hands-on experience in story development and storytelling through the medium of film. Each Saturday Session allows students to write, record, edit, and produce a unique film project while also learning about career opportunities in the film industry.

Promise Zone continues to help students, schools

Berea College GEAR UP was highlighted in an article celebrating GEAR UP programs in Kentucky Promise Zones. With the support of GEAR UP grants, they have been able to purchase technology and books at schools, take students on college trips, and work closely with families to make sure they have the information they need about colleges and financial aid. Graduation rates have gone up as a result, and staff look forward to continual improvement. 

Weber State's GEAR UP family night makes college prep a family affair
