GEAR UP 4 LA's peer mentoring program empowers students to build college-going aspirations and enrollment while sharing college access information with peers. During Peer Mentor Summits this fall, 9th- and 10th-grade students learned about the four systems of higher education, match and fit, and high school graduation requirements, and explored their own stories through team building and dialogue circles.

High schoolers test knowledge, learn about neurology, at second UTRGV Brain Bee
High school students from across the Rio Grande Valley in Texas participated in the UTRGV School of Medicine's Brain Bee competition, a question-and-answer contest for high school students about neuroscience. One student shared, “I saw that they’re giving back to the world in a way that I want to. My parents gave me the world, and I want to make them proud by giving as much as I have received.”Read more here.
