GEAR UP at Palomar College was highlighted for their work with students in a recent publication. GEAR UP students have a number of opportunities to become more involved in college readiness activities and prepare for college and career.
 
 

Annual grant could impact hundreds of Pikeland students

Pikeland Community School, part of Illinois GEAR UP, recently purchased two Chromebook carts so that GEAR UP students have internet access. Two GEAR UP staff members will help facilitate college readiness for these students, part of which will involve online studies. The middle school is excited about the opportunities that GEAR UP has opened up for these students. 

Snowboarding Pioneer to Speak at USU Sept. 25

The Utah State University STARS! GEAR UP program is getting ready for National GEAR UP Week! Stephen Koch, a snowboarding pioneer, will provide inspiration for students during their week-long celebration of helping students reach for their dreams. 

College Advising Corps Expands By a Third Through New Partnership  

The Virginia College Advising Corpspartnered with GEAR UP Virginia this year to serve GEAR UP students. With 36 additional advisers across 40 school districts, they aim to help students prepare for postsecondary education or training to ensure a bright future.
