As we kick-off the 2021-2022 school year, we often focus on the students and how they have prepared themselves for the new year. So much of our attention is directed toward what summer reading lists, school supply lists, and summer projects have been completed. However, we should also focus on the GEAR UP professionals who are also kicking-off a new school year and find time for a little professional development.

NCCEP’s Study Lab is thrilled to announce a new bundle of micromodules created especially for GEAR UP professionals. The topics are GEAR UP Match, Virtual Engagement, and Professional Skills. Each of these short, 30-minute micromodules, are designed to be a quick tune-up of sorts: a refresher of things you may already know, a new idea or two to try, or a short intro for staff new to GEAR UP programs.

GEAR UP Match covers a foundational understanding of its key components: defining match and documenting match. Then explore the key components of virtual engagement using a model to help you foster an ecosystem that you can incorporate into all your virtual meetings or events. Finally, tune-up your professional skills as you explore the different skill types that make you successful in the workplace. Learn why certain types of skills are important and complete an inventory of your own skills.
