To everyone who joined the National GEAR UP Academy, thank you for your commitment to students, families, and communities across the country. Your participation strengthens a national network of leaders dedicated to expanding college and career access for first-generation and underrepresented students.

This year’s Academy, held in an online format from February 2–5, 2026, was designed to build the skills, knowledge, and practices of GEAR UP leaders, practitioners, and partners. Through keynotes, workshops, discussion labs, and team time, participants engaged in hands-on learning, explored best practices, and gained practical tools they can apply immediately in their programs. The event’s emphasis on collaboration, professional development, and mission-driven work continues to move the GEAR UP community forward.

Your energy, thoughtful questions, and willingness to share real-world experiences made this Academy especially impactful. Whether you attended sessions on foundational GEAR UP topics, innovative programming, or peer-driven problem solving, your presence contributed to a meaningful exchange of ideas that will benefit students nationwide.

Save the Date: NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference

As you carry forward what you learned, we encourage you to continue the momentum at the 2026 NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference, taking place July 19–22, 2026, in Washington, DC. This national convening brings together educators, policymakers, families, students, and community partners to share strategies, tools, and inspiration to serve GEAR UP students. The 2026 theme, “Lighting the Way,” reflects our collective mission to lead with purpose, resilience, and hope. Registration will open in late April, 2026.
