WV GEAR UP Hosts Virtual Career Academy
Earlier this spring, over 500 seniors participated in West Virginia GEAR UP's Virtual Career Academy. This event was aimed to help students learn about career paths and plan for their futures, with an emphasis on STEM careers. Kristyn Johnson-May, an alum of the WV GEAR UP program and guest speaker at the event, had this advice for students, “Take college as an opportunity to find something worthwhile. When you are in high school, you have big decisions to make. However, the decisions that you make in college are more than just for four or five years. You need to look at a career that can get you excited.” Read more here.
