Oklahoma schools will celebrate the impact of the state’s GEAR UP college and career readiness and success program. GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) currently partners with 10 school districts and seven regional colleges and universities throughout Oklahoma. The program helps prepare nearly 12,000 middle and high school students for college success through college campus tours, ACT test preparation and testing and college exploration and preparation courses.
At Skiatook, 387 students went on a college campus visit, 158 students received academic counseling, 95 students received Free Application for Federal Student Aid completion counseling and 79 students received Oklahoma’s Promise application completion counseling. GEAR UP paid $10,972 in concurrent enrollment fees for Skiatook students.
