Page students learn valuable lessons about business
Students from GEAR UP Berea went on field trips to local businesses, including a visit to their local courthouse. They learned about day to day jobs, while hearing stories about how guest speakers started their own careers in their respective fields. “I had a blast with the seventh-graders today, GEAR UP allowed us to go to the courthouse today and learn more about local government,” said Jonathan Neely from Page CCN. The trip included stops at local businesses to learn about various entrepreneurial career paths as well. “At GEAR UP we want our kids to be informed citizens one day,” Neely said. “This was great opportunity for them.” They finished up the day by delivering meals to Lighthouse Mission to help feed those in need.
