‘Getting ready for the robot revolution’

“I’m getting ready for the robot revolution,” said an eighth grader. “The robots are pretty amazing, I think it’s fun to help each other and be in groups like this” said another student. At a GEAR UP STEM event through GEAR UP at Grand Rapids Community College, students utilized Lego Mindstorm kits to learn more about robotics and the STEM career field. “They’re learning to work in a team, and they’re learning critical thinking skills...” said Kirsti Dickinson, a math teacher at Kelloggsville Middle School.
