Assembly aims to make students feel connected

The GEAR UP coordinator at Ottumwa High School, part of Iowa GEAR UP, created a way for students to connect to each other, regardless of their background. During a school-wide assembly, students volunteered to present on part of their identity in the hopes that students can better understand each other and foster a sense of belonging.
