Weber State's GEAR UP family night makes college prep a family affair

Weber State GEAR UP at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah recently hosted over 150 families and students at an event with cultural celebrations and career and college readiness breakout sessions for both families and students. Weber State GEAR UP was highlighted for dramatically increasing their family engagement events from on average thirty people to now close to two hundred people consistently. The program’s director, Brandon Flores, explained how they invite families through one-on-one calls, texts, newsletters, social media, and more.
